(See details below)

We are delighted to announce that Associate Professor Louise Mares has
won a prestigious fellowship from the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Studies in the
Humanities and Social Sciences. Louise will hold the appointment in
conjunction with her planned 2011-12 sabbatical.
NIAS Fellows are selected from prominent researchers and senior scholars in
the humanities and social sciences who have already made a significant
contribution to their field. Scholarly achievements, reputation and quality
of publications are aspects considered in the evaluation process. The aim of
the Institute is to foster advanced research in the humanities and social
sciences and to stimulate interdisciplinary scholarly co-operation in an
international setting. All fellowships are awarded on the recommendation of
a Scholarship Committee whose members
are appointed by the Board of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and
Sciences.
