The mission of the Center for Communication Research is as follows:

• To increase general knowledge of communication processes and effects
• To apply communication expertise to the solution of society’s problems
• To communicate our findings to students, other researchers, policymakers, and the public at large
• To train and mentor new communication scholars
• To foster dynamic dialogue among students, scholars, policymakers, journalists, and the public at large
